THERE ARE VOICES AND THEN THERE IS JOHN ‘GENEROSITY’ McDERMOTT’S VOICE DIARY
Prima Ballerina ballerina /filmmaker Veronica Tennant is producing and directing Vive la Danse 25, a fundraising event for the Dancer Transition Resource Centre.
The National Ballet is contributing stars but this is one crazy week of juggling. Guillaume Cote, who just got back from Moscow, will do a solo from Kings of the Dance and Heather Ogden just got the call to dance in New York City this weekend for her first time. Both are now re-immersed in Alexei Ratmansky’s new Romeo and Juliet as are the luminous Greta Hodgkinson and Aleks Antonijevic. Donna Feore is coming in from Stratford to create a Fred and Ginger version of Change Partners for them, to be sung by John McDermott. There are voices and then there are voices! Day One, John jumped on board for us. I owe him! John’s passion project is McDermott House Canada, a charitable organization committed to setting the standard for premier-end-of-life care in Canada for Veterans, Military, First Responders and community patients. Check out www.mcdermotthousecanada.org to learn more about this wonderful undertaking and worthwhile cause.
